MarVa Silent Bass Angler's
Tournament Rules
 
1. Particpation and eligibility:
  •  Open to club members only.
2. Fishing Methods
  •  Only artificals lures will be used.
  •  NO TROLLING PERMITTED
  •  Contestants cannot fish within 50 feet of other contestants' boat when  anchored.
3. Disposition of fish:
  •  Must keep catch alive.
  •  All largemouth, smallmouth, Kentucky spotted, and Florida bass which
     are alive at weigh-in will be released expect for which contestant may
     request to keep.
4. Tournament hours:
  •  Suggested hours 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  •  All must convene 30 minutes prior to starting time.
  •  Final hours will be determined at this meeting prior to next tournament site.
  •  Fishing hours may be decided by participants at tournament site and
      approved  by Tournament Master.
  •  Any other matter is to be discussed prior to the beginning of the
      tournament with approval of Tournament Master. Click #10
5. Weigh-in:
  •  Will be at 3:00 p.m. depends on Marva Tournament Chairperson
  •  All fish must be weighed by Tournament Weightmaster at designation area.
  •  Everyone must be presented.
6. Entry Fee:
  •  $20.00 per person; must be paid in full prior to the tournament.
7. Weight system
  •  No white or stripped bass.
  •  Fish must be over 12 inches long.
  •  Exception in local regualtions will take precedence (i.e. less than 12
      and over 15  inches at Lake Anna).
  •  Tournament Master will inform the club members about regulations at
      each selected tournament site.
  •  After ten minutes, constestants will be disqualified.
8. Sportsmanship and safety:
  •  Contestant must have U.S. Coast Guard approved life jackets or
      cushions at all times while boat is under power by gas motor.
  •  Intoxication will not be tolerated and will be a cause for disqualification.
9. Pairing of boaters with non-boaters:
  •  Boat owners will select their riders, or vice versa, by lot (name written on paper and picked from fishing cap).
  •  No favoritism is allowed.
  •  No angler partner can go with the same boat owner, more than once
      in a year,  unless the other contestant does not show up. In that case,
      an angler partner  may  ride with same boat owner.
  •  For those boats with no livewell, fish must be kept on a stringer.
  •  Sitting preference is also subject to negotiation between boater and rider.
  •  Riders are expected to pay 20 dolars for gas, oil for boat, and ramp fee.
  •  Only two anglers are permitted per boat. Unless there is an odd number
      of  participants that day; therefore, one of boat owner will be fishing
      alone with the honor system. Every boat owners will take turns whenever
      the odd number  happens.
