This club was founded in 1986 by five
charter members. This club was named MarVa Silent Bass Anglers.
The name “MarVa” came from names of two states - Maryland
and Virgina. At the time the club
was founded, Washington, DC was considered not to be included for
many reasons. MarVa Silent Bass Anglers is a non-profit organization.
The club was founded solely for the deaf.
- Affiliation with NBAD since 1993 (still “a new club” for NBAD)
MarVa Silent Bass Anglers started the affiliation with National Bass
Association of the DEAF in 1993. Some MarVa Silent Bass Anglers
went to La Grange, Georgia to show our new club. We learn so
much about NBAD that we want to be part of NBAD as long as we can.
During NBAD tournaments in Georgia ‘93, Missouri ‘94 and Florida
‘95 the people have not really yet recognized MarVa Silent Bass
Anglers. MarVa member Bobby Seremeth became the first MarVa
member to be elected Treasurer for NBAD (‘95-’97). We are proud
to be an excellent club. Add about Marva's first NBAD tourney at Lake
Anna:
how often do we have meeting (when / where)
The president has the right to call for the meeting. Usually,
we have a meeting after the tournament each month.
- Invitational Bass Tournament brief history
We started to host the Open Bass Tournament at Potomac River, MD in
1994. It was an individual type of bass tournament.
In 1995, We hosted the Invitational Bass TEAM tournament at
Lake Anna, VA. We started with $500 dollars guaranteed first
place prize. In the past four years so far, we have had hosted the
invitational tournament during the third weekend of September on Saturday
and Sunday.
