Our Marva Silent Bass
Angler's first tournament was held at Sturgeon Creek
Marina on Sunday, March 28th,
2004.
There were 17 anglers showed
up the 1st tourney of 2004. We had 8 boats. The weather was partly
cloudy,chilly & sunny. The temperature was around 55-60 degree.
The water temperature was around 50-55 degree. The water in south(lower)
was clear/stained but north (upper) was muddy/stained.
There were only 14 largemouth
bass that had been caught, and the total weight was 17.23 lbs. Only
6 out of 17 anglers caught largemouth bass. In addition to that,
we would like to express our warm welcome to Rookie Ricky Cornish
and return veterans Paul Crummet and Bill Dudley for joining our
Marva club!
Bob Corbett won his first tournament.
He caught 2 good size bass with black saphire finese worm. The total
weight was 5.60 lbs who haven't won 1st place since Marva Founder
in 1986. He also caught a lunker 3.60 lbs. Sam Harris was in second
place with 2 bass which weighed 4.60 lbs. He threw his first brand
new Booyah white spinnerbait to catch two bass. Delmas Woodall was
in third place with 2 bass which weighed 2.90 lbs. He used a texas
rig w/ 3 inches Mann's crawfish. We would like to congratulate to
Bob Corbett!
