Our Marva Silent Bass
Angler's second tournament was held at Sturgeon Creek Marina on
Sunday, April 19th, 2003.
There were 17 anglers showed
up the second tourney of 2003. We had 7 boats. The weather was cloudy
and partyly sunny. The temperature was around 55-60 degree. The
water temperature was around 56-59 degree. The water in south(lower)
was clear/stained but north (upper) was muddy/stained.
There were only 10 largemouth
bass that had been caught, and the total weight was 22.95 lbs. Only
five out of 17 anglers caught largemouth bass. In addition to that,
we would like to express our warm welcome to Rookies (need their
names) for joining our Marva club!
Jason Teramae won the tournament.
He caught three bass with green pumpkin lizard. The total
weight was 9.13 lbs which broke Sam Harris's best total weight
at Lake Anna 9.10 last June 2000. He also caught a new record
lunker 6.26 lbs with his spinning reel on 6 lbs line. He also
broke Charles Gornto lunker's record 6.12 lbs at Lake Anna.
Bob Seremeth, Sr. was in second place with four bass which
weighed 6.62 lbs. He threw a small slugo to catch all bass.
Troy Stevenson was in third place with one bass which weighed
3.15 lbs. He used a split shot w/ 5 inches watermelon lizard.
